The legend is only the beginning

For more than two centuries, people have tried to discover what lies hidden on Oak Island. But behind the stories of shafts, treasure and vanished expeditions lies a mystery that reaches far deeper than the legend everyone knows.

Three paths lead to one mystery

What begins as a simple research assignment draws Jamie Watson deeper and deeper into the mystery of Oak Island. For more than two centuries, treasure hunters have searched the island, leaving behind stories of mysterious shafts, strange discoveries and unexplained events.

But Jamie is not the only one whose path is connected to the island. While Annie Pilgrim uncovers an old document during her research, Ryan Porter crosses the Atlantic aboard a ship, trying to escape his own past.

Three stories, three perspectives, and a mystery far greater than a simple treasure hunt.

The Legend of Oak Island

Since 1795, the so-called Money Pit has drawn treasure hunters to Oak Island. Reports of flooded shafts, mysterious finds and repeated excavations have turned the search for the Oak Island Treasure into one of North America’s best-known treasure legends. This timeline traces the key events from the earliest treasure hunters to the modern search.
